Could not help, but jump on board to help a long time mate and now colleague, Andrew “Goody” Goodwin, Principal and Director of Ray White Port Lincoln. Goody thinks the same as I, involve and embrace the communities you are within and provide a service that is second to none.
This weekend Goody is opening a number of properties, but the one that has sparked my interest is 58 Bruce Terrace, Cummins on Eyre Peninsula, South Australia. This is an absolute ripper property already with a proven financial return. More to the point Goody has taken into consideration what is happening down the road and has scheduled the open inspection this Saturday 15th of July 11-11:45am right before the big showdown of the Great Flinders strongest Football and Netball rivalries, Ramblers versus Cougars.
The Great Flinders Football League began in 1927 with founding clubs including Cummins, Cummins Ramblers, Mortlock, Mount Hope, Rovers, Shannon and Yallunda Flat. The Cummins Kapinnie Cougars were formed in 1997 when Cummins Reds and Kapinnie amalgamated (Ray White Port Lincoln’s Andrew Goodwin played for the Cougars in 1997 and ’98). The Cougars were beaten by Ramblers in the Preliminary final in 97. In 98 the two teams faced off in the Grand Final, with Ramblers again prevailing).Ramblers have won an astounding 39 premierships since the Great Flinders League was formed in 1927. Cummins won seven of the seventeen Grand Finals it contested. Kapinnie claimed ten League flags from 23 Grand Finals, most notably four in a row from 1990 – 1993. Since amalgamating, the Cougars have won two flags from nine grand final appearances.
This weekend is a critical match up between the two clubs with one win separating them and could actually put one of them in rare unfamiliar territory and serious doubt for finals if lost. Side note – pretty pumped to see my old club, Eyre United, sitting high and mighty on the ladder, go you Saints.
But back to what everyone should be doing before attending the Cummins Community football Showdown is popping along to 58 Bruce Terrace.
